◆ Section 04 · About

A collective portrait of the industry.

The Central American Video Game Catalog brings together, for the first time in a single publication, the independent studios building the videogame industry in the region.

From the highlands of Guatemala to the Panama Canal, twenty-nine teams across six countries are developing original IP, working with international publishers, and offering co-development, porting, and art services.

This catalog is a tool for publishers, investors, and partners interested in connecting with a young, creative ecosystem that is ready to scale.

Why Central
America
?

Four reasons this region is on the radar of international publishers and investors.

01

Original IP with its own voice

From pixel art platformers inspired by the Honduran scarlet macaw to the Mayan ball game reimagined, studios tell stories that can only be told from here.

02

Bilingual and technical talent

Teams working in Unity, Unreal, Godot, and GameMaker; with proven experience in porting, co-development, and shipping on Steam, Switch and mobile.

03

Publisher-ready

Most studios are actively seeking publishers, investment, or partners to scale projects that already have playable prototypes or shipped titles.

04

Competitive costs

Central America offers competitive development costs versus North America and Europe, in a convenient time zone (CST/EST) and with cultural proximity to English-speaking markets.
